2026 League Fees & Updates
To address rising operational costs, the Board has adjusted league fees for the upcoming season. Fee variations are based on the league type, game duration, number of games per season, and team sizes.
League Fees
- Standard Rates: League fees will range from $120 to $305 per league (in addition to the base Club Fee and Capital Fee).
- Multi-League Discount: If you play in more than two leagues, your third, fourth, and subsequent lower-priced leagues will receive a 25% discount.
- Overpayments: Any registration overpayments will be automatically refunded by the Membership team once registration closes.
League Formats & Schedule Changes
- New! Friday Morning Open TAG (10:30am): Introducing a Doubles/Triples/4-Curler TAG league.
- Friday Open Social House: Now running on a "three weeks on, one week off" format (some exceptions may apply due to holiday dates).
- Saturday Open Social TAG: Will now operate as a Doubles/Triples and 4-Curler TAG league.
New Member Special Promotion
We are excited to continue our discounted membership program for first-season members joining our weekend social leagues!
- Applies to: Friday and Saturday Open Social Leagues.
- Perks: This limited membership allows you to play in the Friday or Saturday night Social Leagues and be available as a spare in the Sunday Open Flight league.
The following leagues are available at the York Curling Club:
Sunday Little Rocks (U12) - 9:00 AM
This developmental league introduces children to curling, focusing on sportsmanship and fundamental skills. Our alumni have gone on to compete at provincial, national, and world levels.

League Overview:
- Ages: 8–11 (born on/after Jan 1, 2015). Age 7 accepted with an on-ice parent volunteer.
- Open: Any gender
- Skill Level: All levels welcome (Beginner to Competitive)
- Registration Type: Individual. The convener will create teams each week, as applicable
- Capacity: 24 participants
- Fees: $145 per player
Dates & Times:
- Time: Sundays, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (minimum of 20 weeks per season)
- Dates: October 4, 2026 – April 4, 2027
- Night of Champions: April 9, 2027 (Top eight attendees qualify for the event).
League Format:
- Weekly Session: 30 minutes of skill development (delivery/sweeping) followed by a two-end game. Points are awarded for attendance.
- Path to Success: Participants can compete in the Hit, Draw, Tap competition and local area "Little Rock" bonspiels.
- Gear: Limited curling shoes available for rental; club brooms are provided. Email manager@yorkcurlingclub.ca for details.
Not Ready to Commit? Try Before You Buy
If you are interested but unsure about a full-season commitment, follow these steps to trial the program:
- Create a Profile: Register a Member Profile on our website at any time.
- Note: Each Member Profile requires a unique email address
- Registration: Once registration opens on July 2, 2026 (look for communications in June), register for the Sunday Little Rocks (U12) League.
- Waivers & Payment: Complete the necessary waivers and concussion protocols. At the payment step, select "Pay at the Club."
- Trial Period: Once registered, the participant is welcome to attend their first two sessions as a trial to ensure they enjoy the sport before finalizing payment.
Parent Volunteers Needed
We rely on parent support to run this program. No experience is required!
- On-Ice Coaching: Help guide skill development.
- Snack Coordinator: Organize post-game snacks (a fan favorite!).
- Lounge Clean-up: Assist with light tidying after snack time.

Whether you are a brand-new beginner, a casual couple, or a seasoned competitive curler, this league is for you. We focus on FUN, fair play, and helping everyone improve their game.

- Skill Level: All levels welcome (Beginner to Competitive)
- Registration Type: Register as a full team, a couple, or an individual. The convener will help place individuals and couples onto teams!

- League Fee: $200 per player

- Sundays: 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM
- Note: A 7:30 PM time slot will be added if the league grows beyond 24 teams. The convener will try to distribute teams across both time slots and accommodate game time preferences where possible.

- If the league finishes with an odd number of teams, some weeks your team may have a bye (a week off from regular play).
- On a bye week, you can still get on the ice by adding your name to the spare list.

To keep games fun and competitive for everyone, we use a tiered flight system:
- Teams are split into divisions based on skill level.
- Newer teams will start in the lower divisions, while experienced teams will start in the higher divisions.
- Move Up or Down: Top 2 teams move up a division, and the bottom 2 teams move down.
- New Curler Support: If required, divisions with beginner teams/curlers will receive free instructional coaching for at least the first 3 to 4 weeks of the season to help you get confident on the ice!

If you are a curler aged 50 or better who loves daytime curling and good company, this league is for you. We focus on social play, meeting new friends, and enjoying a great morning on the ice.

- Tiered Flight System: The league runs with two divisions (A and B flights) to keep games highly competitive. Returning teams are seeded based on last year's results, while new teams start in B flight.

- Vacancies: If individual or team vacancies arise, the league convener will attempt to fill the draw with interested curlers from the waitlist.

Designed for teams looking for a competitive edge to jumpstart their weekend, this open-gender flight league is open to any combination of men and women of any age. It offers a structured environment to challenge your skills against teams of a similar calibre.

- Important Schedule Notes: To accommodate the three-flight system, this league utilizes a rotation where teams generally play two weeks on and one week off (a bye).
League Format

If you are looking for a relaxed, social, and less-competitive atmosphere to wrap up your week, this recreational league is for you. Welcoming all skill levels and genders, it is the perfect place to meet new friends, enjoy the sport, and transition from beginner to regular club player.

- Skill Level: All levels welcome (Novice to Recreational)
- Registration Type: Individual registration (You may request to play with specific friends, and the convener will try to build balanced teams)
- Capacity: 96 players

- Day & Draw Times: Fridays at 6:50 PM (Occasional 9:00 PM games may be added if registration grows beyond 48 players)
- Season Dates: October 2, 2026 – April 2, 2027 (Oct 2 is a ‘meet & greet’ curling night with regular league play beginning October 16, 2026)
- Night of Champions: April 9, 2027 (The top teams will qualify to play!)
- Important Schedule Notes: This league runs on a "3 weeks on, 1 week off" rotation, meaning your team will have a scheduled bye approximately every fourth week.
League Format
- Shuffled House League: Permanent teams will be created by the convener and posted before regular league play starts on October 16. Teams will play together for the fall session, and then curlers will shuffle for the winter session to help everyone meet new members.
- Sparing: If you are unavailable for a scheduled game, players are responsible for securing a spare to take their place on the ice.

This league features three themed Saturday nights throughout the season that are open to both members and the public (Details to be posted soon).
League Member Perk: League members curl for free on these nights! A small fee applies only if you choose to participate in the off-ice social activities (e.g., food/workshops).
